We are currently looking for:

Business Control Assistant - Part Time Position

BW LNG is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Control Assistant to support our team in a temporary part-time position (30-40%). You will work closely with our Business Control Manager in ensuring effective monitoring and management of operational performance for our LNG fleet. This temporary position is particularly well suited for a 4th or 5th year Master's degree student seeking hands-on experience in a dynamic working environment. Due to additional projects this year, the assistant role's primarily focus will be to support with daily tasks, data management, reporting, and analysis to aid business decisions and strategic goals.

The selected candidate will be given responsibilities based on skills and experience which may include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Data Management & Monitoring:
    • Assist in monitoring operational costs (eg, OPEX, drydocking, project costs).
    • Support tracking and updating key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, environment, and vessel operations.
  • Analysis Support:
    • Perform initial analysis on performance trends, identifying potential areas for improvement.
    • Assist in the preparation of recommendations for relevant departments on corrective and improvement actions.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Support the preparation of regular reports for internal management, joint venture partners, and other stakeholders.
    • Assist in assembling materials for presentations on business performance.
  • Budget & Forecast Assistance:
    • Participate in the coordination of the OPEX budgeting process.
    • Assist in maintaining and updating forecasts and budgets for operational and business development purposes.
  • Compliance & Procedures:
    • Help ensure work adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and internal procedures within finance/accounting.
  • Additional responsibilities can be given based on the candidate's qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or completing a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Interest in the shipping industry is considered an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud and Power-BI is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Organized and structured, with effective time-management abilities.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
