In order to support our vision to be Best on Water and strengthen our team, BW LNG is looking for a highly motivated summer intern to our Commercial team. Depending on qualifications and departmental needs, you might get an opportunity to assist in the Operations team on an ad-hoc basis. This is your opportunity to get hands-on experience in supporting the progress towards a low-carbon society in one of the world’s leading maritime organisations in a dynamic and competitive market.

Our Commercial team is responsible for originating, evaluating and developing new business opportunities and projects across the LNG value chain. The team consists of 15 colleagues across 3 offices which perform tasks such as:

• Exploring innovative solutions to leverage existing assets, and pursue opportunities for new ones
• Tender participation and contract negotiations
• Building and nurturing relationships with clients and suppliers
• Financial modelling and research

Key responsibilities for summer intern:

• Research: Perform market research on the energy markets and competitive landscape for the LNG shipping and FSRU/FSU segments
• Business development: Support the team’s daily responsibilities, including projects, chartering and investment activities
• Communication: Prepare marketing proposals, research, financial analysis, and other related materials for senior management
• Financial modelling: Build and maintain project and financial models to assess potential returns and valuations, structure projects, and advise on our position in chartering processes
• Data: Analyse trends and operational data of our ships
• Participate in specific projects or tasks in Operations as required

 Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Shipping, Industrial Economics, Marine Technology, Engineering or equivalent with strong academic track record
• Current 3rd and 4th year students are preferred
• Relevant previous work experience is an advantage
• Good written and spoken English
• Strong Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills

 Personal qualities:

• High motivation and drive, willingness to learn and creative with flexible attitude
• Genuine interest in finance, energy and shipping markets
• Structured and well-organised with strong analytical and reasoning ability
• Team player mentality with proven ability to work independently, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
