Insurance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Manager, who has a strong claims handling background, to join BW Group’s Global Insurance team, reporting to the Head of Insurance in Singapore. In this role you will be responsible for managing and overseeing claims (H&M, P&I, FD&D, and LOH), predominantly for the BW LNG fleet; liaising with BW LNG’s Technical and Operations teams; playing a key role in enhancing insurance-related operations and contributing to quality management initiatives. It is a role that has a direct impact on the fleet's financial and operational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle claims, specifically H&M, P&I, FD&D and LOH for BW LNG and other BW related Fleets as required. 
  • Contract reviews.
  • Follow up and assist in the preparation of claims to be presented to P&I Clubs and Market underwriters.
  • Provide support reviewing claims information including technical reports.
  • Prepare statistical analysis and reports as required (e.g. Monthly Claims Report including prospective timeline and recovery estimates).
  • Support renewal preparation including reviewing claims and underwriting data.
  • Liaise with brokers and underwriters as required.
  • Responsibility for BW LNG insurance administration including the checking and processing of insurance related documentation.
  • Provide budgetary updates to Fleet Managers and the Accounts Department.
  • Liaise with departments over non-marine insurance queries.
  • Provide support and enhance inter-departmental processes.
  • Participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures with a focus on the processes between BW LNG and the Insurance Department.
  • Participate in insurance related operations in accordance with the company’s strategies.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree / diploma in Maritime Law or a related field is an advantage but not a substitute for relevant work experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience handling marine claims – H&M/ P&I.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Good command of English.
  • Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Location:

  • The position will be based in our office in Oslo, Norway. Some traveling should be expected for this position.
