We are currently seeking:
Fleet Manager BW LNG – Oslo
The Fleet Manager is responsible for all aspects of technical management for designated fleet in order to contribute to safe, reliable and cost-effective operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the team of Superintendents in own department in all aspects to ensure maximum operational fleet availability by managing and implementing a healthy vessel maintenance program within allocated budgets and supporting all activities to be in line with the BW LNG’s Zero Harm principles.
- Day-to-day ship management of assigned fleet of MEGI and Steam vessels ensuring optimal performance and compliance with applicable rules, regulations and customer requirements.
- Maintain a proper distribution of vessels amongst the Superintendents.
- Actively support implementation of BW LNG manning strategy to ensure the process continuously delivers the required standard and number of motivated seafarers.
- Actively participate in the development of relevant strategies, operating philosophy and structure for the fleet.
- Actively pursue opportunities for operational efficiencies, develop the ship management processes and maximizing use of all resources to ensure it compares favorably with key competitors and drive safe and cost-effective operational standards across all ship management activities. Actively strive for cost optimization.
- Monitor industry developments and relevant Rules and Regulations, proactively recognizing changes, trends and risks. Take part in the Compliance Committee and implement the required changes.
- Develop, manage and motivate the department staff to work together to achieve optimal operational efficiency, results and deliveries, both in our own department and inter-departmental.
- Maintain effective, constructive and positive communication and interaction between all parts of BW LNG with particular attention to ship-shore, commercial/operations/contract management and cooperation across the offices.
- Manage direct reports and broader reporting teams and devise and implement improvements in areas including team structures, job allocation and definitions, targets and objectives, recruitment, appraisal, staff development and training, levels of knowledge and understanding, and rewards in keeping with company culture and guidelines.
- Actively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures.
- Ensure to complete all responsibilities as outlined in this JD in accordance with the company’s prevailing Health, Safety and Environment policy as described in the management system.
- Permanent member of the Incident Management Team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Maritime Studies (Marine Engineering/ Marine Transportation / Nautical Sciences or related).
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Technical Superintendent or Fleet Manager/Technical Manager.
- Proven experience with planning, preparing and executing dry docking procedures in the international ship yards.
- Gas / LNG competence and seagoing experience in Sr. Engineer position is an advantage.
- Fluency in English.
- Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway.
