We are currently seeking:

HSEQ Superintendent

BW LNG is currently seeking a highly motivated HSEQ Superintendent to join our team. This role will participate in all aspects within the HSEQ Area of responsibility.

The main responsibilities for the HSEQ department are maintaining the Company’s Safety Management System covering Health, Safety, Environment and Quality in accordance with industry requirements, ISO9001 and ISO14001. Ensure positive development of the Company safety culture and drive improvement initiatives within Health, Safety, Environment and Quality. Our top priority is zero harm to people and the environment, while we deliver quality service to our customers.

The selected candidate will be given responsibilities based on skills and experience which may include the following:

Responsibilities:

The HSEQ Superintendent primary responsibility is to ensure a continued process of improvement in the standards of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality for the LNG Fleet ashore and onboard.

  • Perform quality control of improvement reports, follow up and close out assigned reports.
  • Perform incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Perform review and updates of Emergency plans.
  • Perform interviews and induction of new senior officers.
  • Provide HSEQ reports for company and customers.
  • Plan, coordinate and perform internal system audits onboard and ashore.
  • Act as Log keeper during emergency response mobilization.
  • Implement HSEQ campaigns.
  • Support continuous improvement of the management system by revision and development of procedures and processes.
  • Support implementation of the Management of Change process.
  • Various administrative tasks.
  • Additional responsibilities can be given based on the candidate’s qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Seagoing experience from gas tanker operations at least in role as Junior Officer.
  • Relevant experience from similar position in Maritime or Offshore Industry is an advantage.
  • Good IT skills (specifically Office 365). Experience with UniSea HSEQ software is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of maritime regulatory regime (IMO, Class, Flag), and HSE-requirements specified by OCIMF as well as good knowledge of ISM code requirements.
  • Good command of the English language, verbal and written.
  • Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway.

  • Proven ability to work independently, but with strong teamwork skills.
  • Structured, analytical and well organized, deliver on time.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking.
  • Assume responsibility and search solutions.

Location:

  • The position is based in Oslo. Some travelling to the vessels must be expected.
