We are currently seeking:

Engine Officer / Technical Trainee BW LPG

To support our vision of being the Best on Water, BW LPG is looking for a highly motivated technical trainee with a marine engineering background and minimum 2 years of sailing experience as an Engine officer on the watch. We are looking for someone with a forward-thinking mindset who can enhance our efficiency and contribute to the way we work.

This program offers an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the LPG industry. It will provide hands-on experience aboard a VLGC prior transitioning to onshore role, gaining invaluable insights into ship operations and technical management by rotating across different key departments.

Possible experiences and responsibilities:

  • Acquire practical experience in LPG shipping by sailing one year on a 1-1 rotation on board a VLGC in our fleet.
  • Gain insights through a rotation program in various departments on shore and contribute by suggesting improvements.
  • Support Technical Superintendents in resolving issues and improving processes to ensure efficient and effective operation of the fleet.
  • Participate in preparation for dry dock and provide onsite support to the team.
  • Collaborate with our technical team on potential ship upgrades and projects, contributing by identifying innovative technical solutions for potential ventures, and actively participating in the execution of ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial team in the day-to-day operation of vessels to understand the dynamics of the LPG business.
  • Participate in relevant internal and external training.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of sailing experience as an Engine officer of the watch.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, or Engine officer class 1 at Maritime technical college.
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Hold a permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good data analytical skills.
