Who We Are

BW LNG is seeking a skilled and dedicated Piping/Mechanical Engineer to join our Newbuilding & Projects department in Oslo. Our department is composed of ten experienced maritime professionals who bring their expertise to shape the industry's future. Together, we manage newbuilding- and conversion projects, as well as technical business development while providing specialized support to BW’s global organization.

About the Role

As our new Piping/Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting newbuild, conversion, and modification projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring technical excellence and efficiency. Furthermore, you will apply your technical expertise to various assignments designated by the Head of Department, playing a key role in developing innovative solutions and driving continuous improvements within the organization

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Conducting technical evaluations of piping and mechanical systems and equipment for various projects.
  • Performing feasibility studies and technical assessments for new and ongoing projects.
  • Reviewing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Coordinating with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to meet project requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and conducting inspections during construction and installation phases.
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to manage timelines and project deliverables.
  • Actively participating in technical problem-solving and refinement of engineering solutions.

Qualifications We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in the maritime or shipping industry.
  • Solid expertise in the design, evaluation, and implementation of piping and mechanical systems.
  • Preferably experience within LNG and/or cryogenic systems.
  • Familiarity with maritime industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway.
