We are currently seeking:

Application Manager

We are looking for an innovative and analytical person to own and manage critical business applications, optimize associated processes, and support our way on digitalisation. By developing in-depth knowledge to our applications and processes, you will identify and recommend improvements to systems or processes, making sure that we realize as much value as possible from our applications and data. You'll advocate for improvements from vendors, train employees in best practices, and introduce new tools when necessary, all while continuously assessing the effectiveness of process changes.

This role is a newly established position within the IT and Digitalization team at BW LNG, where we support both onshore and offshore staff with digital solutions for efficient ship management. As part of an agile, cross-functional team, we collaborate closely with the business side to achieve our long-term objectives.

Key responsibilities:

The primary objective for the candidate will be to ensure that our core procurement, inventory and planned maintenance processes and the Microsoft BC-based ERP platform (ShipPalm) support the business needs:

  • Ensure correct system usage and monitor adherence to business processes
  • Optimize the system and align with industry best practices and standards
  • Review and approve functional changes
  • Ensure quality control of new releases
  • Manage development projects and system upgrades 
  • Create user guides and execute employee training 
  • Engage with application vendor on product road map and advocate for enhancements

There will also be capacity to engage in other areas of the team responsibilities. These may be determined based on interest, skills and experience of the candidate, and may include the following:

  • Lead or participate in application development or software selection processes
  • Facilitate process improvement projects within our business
  • Explore opportunities for process automation and use of emerging technologies (such as Generative AI) 
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with other companies within BW Group

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in a relevant field of technology or business
  • Excellent command of English
  • At least three years of relevant work experience
  • Previous experience from shipping and/or consulting industry may be an advantage
  • Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway
