We are currently seeking: 

Head of Risk, Quality and Compliance and Legal Advisor

Are you ready to be a driving force in the LNG industry, ensuring quality, managing risks, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards? The position will also support and advice in legal matters. If you are seeking a dynamic and impactful role, we have an exciting opportunity for you! 

Responsibilities:

BW LNG

• Spearhead the establishment, implementation, and management of an efficient and tailored quality management system for BW LNG, ensuring alignment with BWFM’s Total Quality Management (TQM) approach.
• Lead the further development, implementation, and management of BW LNG’s risk management framework to proactively address and efficiency manage risks, minimizing the need for reactive measures.
• Monitor closely for high-risk or emerging issues and take necessary actions on behalf of the CEO and leadership team.
• Foster effective coordination between risk management in Fleet Management and Commercial departments.
• Establish and uphold an appropriate compliance framework.
• Coordinate BW LNG’s ESG efforts and reporting.
• Oversee ownership of SharePoint of effective document management.
• Contribute to shaping the BW LNG culture based on our core values, assist with the development and oversight of policies and procedures, and actively participate and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of policies and procedures.

BW Group

• Provide legal advice and support in relation to the Group’s business, particularly, BW LNG and BW LPG in Norway.
• Advise on shipping legal matters including charters, supplier contracts and operational issues.
• Review, draft and negotiate a range of legal documentation and commercial agreements.
• Manage and direct dispute resolution matters (litigation, arbitration, and mediation) as and when these matters arise.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance issues including anti-trust, sanctions, anti-bribery, data protection, and environmental matters.
• Liaise and work collaboratively with the Corporate and Secretarial team in Singapore and advise on and monitor corporate governance practices and legal developments.
• Advise on the selection of, and instruct and manage, outside counsel in furtherance of all relevant matters and monitor legal budgets.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Law, preferably Norwegian law.
• Experience in developing and running compliance programs, risk management and quality systems.
• Experience in either in law firm or in-house either as a lawyer or senior paralegal.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across cultures.
• Ability to articulate clearly both orally and in writing.
• Proven team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Proven ability to utilize and motivate resources across an organization and outside formal line management.
• Personal values well aligned with BW Values.
