We are currently seeking:

Junior Marine Superintendent LNG - 12 months contract

A Junior Marine Superintendent, supported by Marine department, will be responsible to ensure that all assigned vessels are operating in compliance with requirements and at all times are acceptable to our customers. The work includes support to Marine Superintendents, vessels, Marine, Technical and Commercial departments from office as well as onboard activities to promote company's excellence including auditing, inspections, guidance, training, campaigns and other relevant activities.

The Junior Marine Superintendent position will be in the LNG Marine, Vetting and Security Department.

The selected candidate will be given responsibilities based on skills and experience which may include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Treat Health and Safety as their top priority in line with the companies Zero Harm values
  • First point of contact for all assigned vessels for day to day Marine functions in close cooperation with the technical and commercial teams
  • Coordinate and assist with vetting/ external inspections and respond to reports as required
  • Conduct internal audits and onboard inspections. Ensuring follow-ups and close out of audit and inspections for the allocated vessels
  • Handle routine and non-routine assessments, voyage assessments management of change and other support requests from vessels and the team
  • Coordinate and support security duties as per company and ISPS requirements
  • Monitor, analyse, manage and minimize loss due to mal-operation, accidents and incidents
  • Actively communicate with the teams including briefing and training them on marine matters
  • Participate and take a lead where needed in development of onboard training programs and perform training sessions onboard
  • Act as a representative of the organization
  • Perform duties as part of the companies Emergency response requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years seagoing experience as Officer onboard tankers with Class 2 – (Deck) – Management level
  • Sailing experience as Chief officer or Master
  • Experience with Gas carrier operations is preferable
  • Relevant work experience in similar role is an advantage
  • Fully conversant with applicable rules, regulations, and industry requirements
  • Good command of the English language, verbal and written
  • Previous experience in similar role may substitute qualifications and requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural awareness
  • Self-going
  • Structured and well organized
  • Good analytical skills and ability to use analytical tools
