We are currently seeking:

Document Controller

BW LNG is currently seeking a structured and organized Document Controller to join our team in Oslo.

New joiner will take responsibility for document control of all newbuilding, conversion and modification projects supporting the team and relevant stakeholders. The right candidate will participate in other projects as requested by Head of Department as well as provide support to other parts of the organization where his/her expertise is requested. S/he will keep updated within technical developments and IT tools related to document control

The selected candidate will be given responsibilities based on skills and experience which may include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and administrate the Project DCC
  • Prepare routines for communication and distribution of all drawings and document in accordance to Project guidelines, and co-ordinate for implementation with external parties; Contractors, Yard and Vendors
  • Implement, coordinate and maintain project document register
  • Ensure continuous flow of documents between external parties; Contractors, Yard and Vendors
  • Follow up internal project resources to ensure drawing approval being carried out in a timely manner
  • Follow up external parties to ensure procedures are followed and timely document deliveries
  • Follow up external parties to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services to the site
  • Assist PM with project management activities as required
  • Coordinate and ensure Final Documentation from Contractors, Yard and Vendors
  • Handover of final documentation to Fleet
  • Establish and maintain document management structure of drawings and reports for the LNG / FSRU fleet

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree within business administration, maritime studies or similar. A relevant work experience could compensate for lack of formal education
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience within document control, preferably from maritime industry
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations (IMO, ISM Code, SOLAS) (advantage)
  • Understanding of classification societies' requirements (DNV, Lloyd’s Register) (an advantage)
  • Good IT skill and experience with document control software
  • Strong command in English, both verbal and written
  • Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway

  • Structured with strong attention to details
  • Good communication skills
  • Working independently and solution oriented Analytical, uses a systematic approach to solve tasks
